ACTOR/SINGER/DANCER/PLAY-WRITE

Hi! I'm Gideon Klapow - A New York based actor and student at Neighborhood Playhouse.

Originally from Sacramento, CA, I trained rigorously in musical theatre at KD studios and The Neighborhood Playhouse School for the Theatre. I am a 7 year voice student currently working with Kate Chaston And a student at Northern California alifornia Dance Conservatory from 2016-2021 with a focus in ballet.

Come check me out in "Funeral for a Dog" a new musical by Miller and Harlow where I play a 17 year old adjusting to a new life in the country. Its a moving comedic musical with a concept that will keep you on your toes and no spoilers but. . . a dog dies. Coming to the Edinburgh Fringe 2024.

Regionally, I've worked as Les in "Newsies" and Michael in "Billy Elliot" at Woodminster Theater in Oakland, CA.

Most recently I made my off-broadway and New York City debut in a workshop of a new play about becoming a man told through the lens of 7 highschool wresltlers Called "Sprawl" by Michael Ronca. Ronca wrote a character perfect for me and I couldn't have asked for a better cast to introduce me to New York theatre. See my "Sprawl" Reel below.

As a writer, I wrote and acted in "Dinosaurs and Bumblebees" produced by BraveMaker Films.  In addition, I have recently co-written and co-produced the original stage play "When I Say I Love You." Both can be viewed on youtube and a link is attached below.

As a dancer, as part of a contemporary ballet duet, I was selected 3rd place in SF Regional for Youth America Grand Prix and overall winner of California Dance Classics in my age group.

Gideon Klapow

"The youngest cast member and his talent is immediately evident from his first moment on stage" - Broadway World

"I've often heard people say I just can't help but love you." - Kelly Dunn

"Despite his youth, Gideon’s command of language, his vocal instrument and his
unyielding understanding of comedic timing all make him an extremely gifted actor..." - Jordan Westfall

Whats Next for Gideon?

Gideon is currently in attendance of the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre as the youngest person to have ever been admitted with the exception of Jeff Gold bloom (who was kicked of for being 17... Gideon is yet to be kicked out.)
